I don't know how to explain this but a few days ago, I bought an old laptop with Windows XP installed. For some odd reason, I had this strange curiosity to look through the previous owner's old files even though he had told me that it had most of it had been wiped clean. First, I looked through the music folder and found nothing.

Second, I looked through the documents folder. Still nothing. The videos folder had the same result. Finally, I looked through the pictures folder. At first, it was just a bunch of photographs of landscapes and people but there was one file that stuck out.

Strangely, there was a .pdf that was named "cryptic.pdf". After further examination, it seemed to hexadecimal code that after making a few changes, would reveal a .jpeg. When I repeated this process and discovered a .jpeg that was curiously named "screamsandashes.jpeg".

I'm sorry... it's just hard to describe the image that I saw. Okay, it was an extremely pixelated image of something that was screaming into the camera. I couldn't tell what it was though, as the .jpeg was extremely corrupted. Maybe it was human? I just don't know.

It may have been some sick joke by the previous owner but it didn't feel like it. I keep getting spam emails with a .zip file that contains four files: tormentnoise.ogg, mental.txt, helpme.dll and the .jpeg. All of them are corrupted beyond recognition.

I am not typing this anymore. If you want to know what will happen to me, where I will be or anything at all, you will not be able to contact me. Everything is over, so please forgive me for posting this.

Screamsandashes

The screams of pain and anguish will forever torment me.

Tormentnoise
